Drag to look around, turn any face, and solve it your own way — or open the guide below to learn the classic beginner's method.
Drag to look around · Tap a sticker to turn that face
This is the classic beginner's layer-by-layer method. Work through the steps in order. Every algorithm has a Try it button that plays the moves live on your cube, so you can watch exactly what it does.
Each letter turns one face 90° clockwise, as if you were looking straight at that face: U = up, D = down, L = left, R = right, F = front, B = back. A letter followed by ' (prime) turns that face counter-clockwise instead, and a letter followed by 2 turns it 180°. Lowercase x, y and z rotate the entire cube like a real cube in your hands, without changing the puzzle.
Pick the white face (U, on top) and build a plus-sign cross of white edge pieces around the white center, making sure each edge's side color also lines up with its matching center color. There's no fixed algorithm here — it's an intuitive step, so take your time.
Slot the four white corner pieces into the top layer so the whole white face is complete. Find a white corner in the bottom layer, turn D until it sits directly under the slot it belongs in, then repeat the algorithm below until it pops into place correctly.
Flip the cube so the completed white layer is on the bottom (use the whole-cube buttons), then bring the remaining edge pieces — the ones without any yellow — into the middle layer. Find one in the top layer, line its front color up above its matching center, then use the matching algorithm below depending on which way it needs to go.
Two layers are done. Reorient the cube so the yellow face is on top (U) before continuing — use the whole-cube rotation buttons below.
Make a cross on the yellow face — the edge colors don't need to match yet. Depending on your pattern (dot, line, or L-shape) you may need to run this algorithm one, two, or three times.
With the yellow cross made, line up the cross edges with their matching side centers. This algorithm swaps the front and left edges — rotate U and repeat as needed until all four match.
Get the four corners into their correct spots — don't worry about which way they're twisted yet. Run this algorithm once or twice until every corner is in the right place (colors may still be facing the wrong way).
Finally, twist each corner into place one at a time without moving the bottom layer. With an unsolved corner at the front-right-top, repeat this algorithm in multiples of two until it's correctly oriented, then turn only U to bring the next corner into place and repeat.
